So the other day at school I was trying to open one of the doors back up and it has a latch on the top to keep it open. I am about 5'2, therefore, I cannot reach this latch. I try to use my kids' lunchcards to poke it back up there. No hope. So one of my kids taps my arm.
Kid: "Do you want me to get a teacher?"
Me: *laughing* "But I am a teacher."
Kid: "Oh, yeah! But a taller one?"
Yep, thanks. Haha! I went to the elementary intermural basketball games today. Very funny!! It was a good time.
Now I am sitting at home waiting for Mr. S. to get home. Hopefully this Saturday gets some life breathed into it sometime.

Hello! If you recall, I have a dog named Truman. He is the pain in my rump and also super adorable. I like to say that he is best enjoyed in photo form. So...there is a contest for Bissell where your dog can possibly win and be on the box. Woah! Here is the main reason I have entered him -- you can win a vacuum. Not just ANY vacuum, mind you, but a pet vacuum. Meaning dog hair comes up easier. It has been my struggle I can't handle about having this dog. I don't do dog hair...and he has a lot.
Here is what I need from my lovely blog-friends (and the real-life ones!)...please vote for my T-Dog!
Oh, yesterday was a bad day. Bad, bad, bad. Frustration was the common theme for yesterday. I have 21 students in my room. Yesterday I had to do paperwork on one that is having some classroom problems with defiance, today I need to finish paperwork on another kid that is having some learning problems. I need to put in my grades, still grade some papers, get my reading lessons put together for my reading groups, figure out what I am teaching in science...it's neverending...
It is 5:50am right now. I like to post of a morning because it is quiet and my thoughts are under control. I am getting ready to dry my hair and head to work as soon as I can. Probably around 6:15. That puts me at work around 6:45. I typically get there at 7:10. Yep, it is one of those days. Actually, one of those weeks.
On a brighter note, my mom is coming to see me this weekend!!!!! I am so excited to see her. She had her gall bladder out a couple of weeks ago the weekend of my birthday and was unable to come up and see me. She was pretty upset that she didn't get to come up, but I am glad that she gets to now. We are going to go and watch some of my third graders play intermural basketball. Tee-hee...how cute is that going to be?! And eat Chinese. Yay!
I love Subway and their $5 footlongs. Dinner for $2.50 (half a sub) and then lunch the next day for another $2.50 (the other half). How much better does it get?!
On my way home from the gym I decided I was not cooking dinner, Subway is healthy, on the way home, and I had $10 for husband and I to eat...so WINNER! I pulled my sweaty self into Subway to grab din-din. Yep. That's how I roll.
It's still cold. Winter needs to be over. I think the coldness is what is currently contributing to my grumpiness. Ick. I would love for the sun to just shine and shine and warm the ground (and me!). I think that would make me feel better.
The other thing to make me happy...I need to quit watching the news. I know, I know, be informed. I think that right now if I heard less of the news, I might be happier. Wow, talk about Debbie Downers. I should stick with my world of reality TV....for some reason they aren't dealing with the recession, therefore I don't have to be reminded of it during The Bachelor, The Real World (shouldn't I hear about it on a show called Real World? Hmmm....), The Biggest Loser, etc. The news, however, can't quit talking about it. Therefore, I should stop watching the news.
My stomach is growling. I need to get ready for work so that I can eat some breakfast this morning. Instead I am on here catching up...eh, it could be worse. Welp, good day!
I need to be inspired. I am not sure what I want. I don't know what I need to do in order to feel like I am whole again. Sometimes I feel like a hunk of who I am is missing.
I miss scrapbooking. I need to get my wedding book done. I just don't have the time/money/space/equipment I need to get my work done. It makes me sad inside to know that I just can't do it right now.
Why can't I lose weight? Maybe if I would quit eating junk, cut out the diet soda, and work out more...we'll see. I have to get on it. For me.
The house we live in is not coming together like we want. Right now the front is ripped up, the side is ripped up, there are metal plates over the road in front of our house, part of our fence and driveway is torn up...so...although I know this is going to make things better, I can't help but hate leaving my house everyday and having to see that. We want our floors ripped up and replaced, some carpet in the bedrooms, new appliances...etc...etc...etc...etc...so....yes.
I want to organize my house. Aaaaaah! When is there time/money for it all? I just need to be inspired in life. What do I want to do?

Student Fun for the Day
Pink slip given to a child at 8:20am because of coloring yellow in his desk (because he hates writing, mind you)
Another student putting hand sanitizer in his hair because "someone said it will keep my head from getting cold. I just wanted to test it out." Yep. Thanks. Who can make that up?
What am I up to?
Dinner with the husband tonight...yay for Mexican!
Lesson planning and grading papers at school...ick
Is it wrong that everytime the weatherman says there may be sprinkles, that I think of cupcake sprinkles falling from the sky? Yep, pink, orange, yellow, blue, and green sprinkles falling on a cupcake world. Weird, maybe...do I care? No.
Yesterday I came home and cleaned the living room...for like the 800th time this year. How in the world can the living room get so freaking cluttered?! Arg! No, I am not a pirate, but I am pretty sure that is the noise I have in my head right now...so there ya go.
I got a pile of papers graded. By pile, I mean pile. It is pretty serious. The pile was at LEAST 6 inches tall. Ridiculous. Now I have to enter them in the computer. Fun fun. I think that it would be interesting if parents could see how much work we do at home. I mean, it was my day off yesterday, yet I spent 4 hours at work getting ready for the week and then I spent about 1.5 hours at home grading papers. On my day-off. Awesome. I love my job, but sometimes I wish that I didn't have so much to do at home. I think Mr. S. wishes that, too.
Mr. S. hates his job right now. Hates is a strong word...he is unhappy though. I am trying to do all I can to make this an easier time for him, but I don't know what else to do. I think that just trying to make the house a happier place is the best that I can do at the moment. We diffuse about our days when we get home while I am cooking dinner we usually stand in the kitchen and hash it all out, and then the rest of the night we try not to talk about it. I usually just share funny stories about my third graders (because Lord knows they are hilarious!) and we have fun. I just hate that he feels like this about work. I mean, it's a place he has to go to everyday. Who wants to be miserable everyday? Not me.
Okay, I rambled on more than I thought I would. I really thought I would quickly post about sprinkles falling from the sky....welp, I guess I had a lot to get off my mind. So, there ya go. Have a lovely day!
