"While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, another is busy making mistakes and becoming superior."

Welp. it is officially not the weekend now. Know how I can tell? Mr. S. had to go back to work and I have about 50 things to do to catch up from my weekend. Actually, this weekend was quite progressive, but I still feel like there are some things to get done. Aren't there always?

"Could we just skip the weight part of this?" was the question I wanted to ask my lady doctor's nurse. I didn't though. Why can't they say this one time, just for fun? It might make someone's day.

"How much is a new A/C unit going to cost?" is the question I wanted to ask the A/C guy again when he came out to repair the one we have. I thought he was kidding. Guess what, he wasn't.

I do have a dr. appointment for my face...going to have some skin stuff checked out. I have another dr. appointment for my wrist scheduled...I can't wait. My wrist is killing me. I can't put weight on it very well, typing is super painful, moving it is rough...ouch.

Well....I need to fold those whites that have been in the dryer since yesterday. I hate folding socks.

Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it. ~ Anonymous

Good afternoon! I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day. Mr. S. and I have had such a great weekend!

What I loved about this weekend...
  • The view at the wineries.
  • The super cute dress I bought to wear to the wineries.
  • Bowling after a few too many margaritas! (and doing horribly, I might add!)

  • Having an amazing time with my friends.

  • The dog being away for the weekend so I could enjoy some quiet time.

  • Mr. S. and I having some time to ourselves.

  • Cleaning our house (I love a fresh smelling house!)

Yes, it was a good weekend. Mr. S. is taking tomorrow off of work so that we can hang out some more. It has been so good to just spend time with him this weekend. I didn't realize how much I missed just having fun with him. I am not going to let that escape us again. No good.

Have a lovely rest of the Memorial Day!

"The bigger the summer vacation the harder the fall." -Unkown

First day of summer break! I woke up at 5am to feed the dog (that is what I have done all school year, so I have to keep up that end of what I did) and let him out. Then Mr. S. got up for work and let the dog out. I remember him telling me that when I heard the dog bark that I should let him in. So...Truman stayed outside until 9am! YAY! I got some quality sleep. I woke up, ate some Corn Pops, and am watching Regis and Kelly. *sigh* Life is good. I do have to go back in a week to teacher summer school, so this is like a mini-break.

Getting my hair done this afternoon and then I would like to find a dress for the winery this weekend that I can also wear to a wedding the next weekend. That would be lovely! Or some shoes to go with one of the cute dresses I have. We'll see...

Enjoy your day!

"Put your future in good hands - your own."

School is out! I had my workday today and I am DONE! Okay, done with the regular school year. I am going back in a week and a half for 4 weeks of summer school. I have to go back Friday to pick up my check...yeah, interesting. We don't have direct deposit and so now I have to drive an additional 25 min. there and back to get my check. Well, since I am doing that I am going to just stay and get summer school stuff together. Blah.

Winery adventure this weekend! I am going to one I have never been to before and enjoying a little festival there. I am pretty excited!

I could use a nap. *sigh*

"Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping." Bo Derek

Great thing for today:
I see some furniture in this great catalog from Lakeside Collection and Mr. S. says "Take my card and go buy it." Really? Really?! REALLY?! So then this morning he threw his card at me and said, "Seriously, buy it." YAY!! So I have just placed an order for this great bench to put in my living room. The bench and baskets come with it!
Then I bought this cute pantry for the kitchen. It has a tilt out trash can and comes with the baskets, too!
I am super excited! What a great deal and it was not that expensive at all. The bench was like $75 and the pantry was $70. Awesome stuff!

Oh, it is Sunday and we have 1.5 days left of school. I need to go run some errands.

Teaching should be full of ideas instead of stuffed with facts. ~Author Unknown

Friday. I love Friday. I need a nap and I have been awake for 30 minutes. Awesome.

2.5 days left of school. I know some of you fellow-teachers are out there ready to kick me. I can't blame you! It is so nice to be done so early. We started the year Aug.25, I think, and had no snow days. This means that we are out on the day we had scheduled! Yay! Summer school starts a week and a half later. I am definitely teaching. People always ask why, and I have to say that since I don't have kids there is no reason for me NOT to do it. It's a great extra paycheck to put back into savings.

I can't wait for my Friday night dinner with Mr. S. We usually go out on Fridays to catch up and enjoy each other's company. I am ready to hang out with him tonight. It has been a super crazy week for us.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! My mom is coming up for a late Mother's Day celebration. It should be fun!

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" ~Robin Williams

Well, my sunburn is no longer electric red...it has tamed down quite a bit.

We have 5 days of school left! 5 days! I have to say, I am going to miss my kiddos. I am going to find something special this weekend to give them as their parting gift from my room. They really are a great group of students.

Goal for today:
Get all my pictures downloaded to my computer. It has to happen because there are SO many of them! I also want to make some online albums and order some prints.

Some things I am itching to do:
Frame a few of the prints and begin hanging them.
Beginning working on my money management
Get my meals planned out for the rest of the week.

I have a lot to do today and I am feeling pretty motivated. We'll see!

"To teach is to learn twice over." - Joseph Joubert

It has been awhile! This weekend was a great one! I got to go back to my alma mater and watch my old roomie/one of my best friends graduate. It was a beautiful graduation day and I am so proud of my friend that graduated. There are a lot of things that she has gone through in life, and it is amazing that she came so far.

The husband and I had a heart-to-heart this weekend. There are things that we have been dealing with lately that we have not had time to sit and share with each other. That has made it hard for us both and it was really good for us to actually have a talk with each other. I missed my husband...we have both seemed so busy lately it is like we hadn't taken time out to talk to each other. It is good to feel like things are back in place.

Today was Play Day with the students. Teacher v. Student kickball game! Teachers won again, of course! The kids love it and we love it. What a fun day!!!

Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination. -Mark Twain

I have yet to find something for my mom. I am such a bad daughter right now. I have NO clue what to do right now. Tomorrow is my goal to find something and I will tell her that I will send it this weekend or next week. Bah.

Field trip yesterday was a super success! The kids had a blast as did my grade partner and I. It was the most amazing time ever. I know that it is awesome when the kids are still talking about it the next day. Yay!

We are down to 8 days left of school. One of my kids asked if their class was one of my most favorite or least favorite classes. I smiled and thought for a moment...because honestly, they are probably my favorite class out of the three I have had since becoming a teacher. I finally sighed and said, "All my classes are different, but I have to say you guys are pretty awesome. I am going to be super sad when you all move on to 4th grade". And that is the truth. My eyes might well up and I might sniffle some tears. Then next year I might wish they find their way back to my room, but they will keep walking to 4th grade. They are pretty awesome kids, that's for sure.

It's bed time. These allergies are making my eyes itch!

Children are a great comfort in your old age - and they help you reach it faster, too. ~Lionel Kauffman

Mother's Day...yeah, that's coming up and I need to find something for my wonderful mother. One should know that my mom and I are best friends. She is someone that I have always gone to for my problems, goals, dreams, big moments, little moments...everything. Have we had our problems? Yeah, sure. I was a teenager once and I had my moments. But there is nothing that has ever made me not appreciate my mother.

I want to get her something special. I want it to mean something, but I just don't know what to do. I have a little bit of time to think, but not a lot. I need to get on it. Ahh!

***************
I think that spring is trying to find it's way into my life. The mornings are still a little cool, so I would like to have a little more warmth. Is that too much to ask?? So I can start my mornings wearing capris? Just askin'.

**************

A lot of my friends and people that I know are having babies. Has this baby fever struck me? Sure. How do I know? Because all I can think about is what it will be like to be a mommy. Does that mean I think it is a good idea for me right now? No, not at all. I would be okay having a baby right now and I feel prepared for it, but I know that I want to wait a little longer. Mr. S. and I had talked about starting a family this year, but we decided to wait a little bit because we want to get some updates done on the house so that it is more child friendly. What is funny is that Mr. S. was that guy that I was afraid would never want children, but his tune changed (thankfully!). I even heard him talking to a friend about it...weird! I love it! All in good time.

Okay...enough for today. BYE!!

"I catnap now and then, but I think while I nap, so it's not a waste of time." Martha Stewart

Students + grandparents day = cRaZiNeSs...ahh, my kids were batty today

I feel bad when my kids don't have grandparents that come...is that how my teachers felt about me? I know my grandma didn't come to mine. Did they think it was sad?

I have a lot of things to get done this weekend. Sleeping...grocery shopping...cleaning the house...laundry...sleeping some more...bill paying...Being an adult is not as fun as it looked when I was a kid.

I need a nap.
