A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. ~Joseph Campbell

Packed...Flip Camera bought...dog at his babysitter's for the weekend (Mr. S.'s dad)...housed picked up...ready for vacation!

Of course the washer decided to break on the last cycle of clothes last night. The seal split, so water started trickling out. I had to stop the washer, pull out soapy clothes, put them in the bathtub, and rinse them. Now I am working on drying them a few at a time on "Heavy Duty" in the dryer. Awesome. Just what I will want to deal with when I get back!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping. ~Bo Derek

My goodness, this week lasted forever! I am on vacation and I still thought that it drug on and on. Maybe it's because I am getting excited for vacation and I am ready to leave!

Ready to hit Old Navy this morning for some last minute things for Mr. S. and myself. I love that place...it is out of control, really.

Palm trees, ocean breeze, salty air, sun kissed hair. That endless summer, take me there.

Heating and cooling guy is supposed to be here today. Between 9-11a.m. Really? I love that that is how they tell you when they'll be here. I mean, I get why they have to do that, but it just sucks. It's a good thing I am home this summer so that it isn't an inconvenience for me or Mr. S. to take off work and wait for them. I hope he comes closer to 9 so that I can still take Truman for a walk at the park. That has been our every morning goal, to go for about a 3 mile walk each morning. I like to go before it gets too hot though...and by about 10...ick, humidity.

Mr. S. and I went out on a little mini-date last night. It was really nice to go out and enjoy each others company. Especially since I have been at home and he just started a new job. It was good to catch up on his job and other things that are going on.

My list of things to start on after vacation has grown and I am glad that I am coming back and working super hard AFTER vacation! :)

Summer is where the girls go barefoot and their hearts are just as free as their toes.

School is out and I am now hoping to return to a normal blogging schedule. I can't keep doing 1 month between my blogs. That isn't a good thing at all...

School is out and I am done with third grade. I am moving onto 5th grade after this summer, and I have to say that I am super nervous but really excited all at the same time. It is good to have a whole summer off. Due to the summer school funding being questioned up until last minute, our school cut back on summer school. They are still having it, but it is limited. It may not even go on because of the lack of participation from requested students. We'll see. But because of this, I am not going to teach summer school this summer. This is probably the first year since I have started in the work force (around 15 1/2) that I have NOT worked. I am slightly afraid of getting bored, but something tells me that I will have plenty to do.

Vacation is coming up in the next week and I am super excited about this. Heading to the Keys for a week of relaxation! My friends are going with Mr. S. and I. There are 5 of us going and then we will meet up here and there with friends that have moved down to FL. I am super excited to see everyone and to hang out all day relaxing.

This summer is going to be relaxing. I can't wait to get things done around the house that need to be done! That is the most exciting thing to me. Once we are back from vacay, I am making my list of things to get done! WOO!

"A quiet mind cureth all." Robert Burton

Operation: Productive Saturday has begun to a bright start this morning. After a perfectly annoying week, I needed to just have this Saturday to myself to get things done.

Started out with an 8:00am workout to Jillian Michaels, laundry, cleaning the kitchen, changing the sheets on the bed, and ordering lunch. Now here I am waiting for my lunch from Jimmy John's to get here. After lunch I am moving onto brushing Truman and bathing him (ick, I HATE doing this!). Then I am going to finish laundry and cleaning.

Mr. S. is gone to tape a graduation and my roomie is at work. So it is just me, myself, and I here at the house. I need some peace and quiet.

“Teacher appreciation makes the world of education go around.” Helen Peters

It's Teacher Appreciation Week...support your teachers out there!

I hope that today is a better day. I don't think my students got the memo that it is Teacher Appreciation Week, so take it easy on your teacher. Only 3 weeks left!

Monday was rough. I hate being stressed out. It isn't attractive. Ick. I need to chill out a little today. At least it's Wear Jeans All Week because that makes teachers uber happy. Yep, we are an easily pleased bunch of people!

Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world. - Virgil Craft

It's been awhile since I have posted. I just haven't been interested in all honesty. I have sat down and started, but I just stop. Maybe I don't feel like there is much to update as of now...not sure. Anywho, I'm here now and I am going to complete this post!

It has been a busy end of April. We are wrapping up the last 3 weeks of school, which are crammed with activities, celebrations, field trips, and craziness. I am pretty excited to be finished because this summer is going to be so busy and so much fun. In a month we are going to FL for vacation with some friends. I can't wait to go on vacation! It is going to be so much fun, staying in the Keys, sleeping in, laying on the beach...sigh, I can't wait.

Summer school is still up in the air...state has to decide on the budget. I wish they'd get on it so that I can get planning. Because of the trip, I would be missing out on the first week and would need a sub. These are things I like to get taken care of in advance so that I can get planned and get a sub. I'm sure parents would like to know, too!

Mr. S. and I took some time to plant flowers out front of the house. They are gorgeous! It rained like crazy and I think a few became water logged, but they are developing nicely. My day lily bloomed today, which I am SO excited about! My husband went and got it to plant while I was at work and he was on vacation. He knew that I loved lilies, so he put one in the front yard.

Weather is getting nice again and I love taking Truman on walks. We have such a good time! Now he is laying on his bed, wiped out for the afternoon. So nice!

Okay, I am going to try to begin updating more. I hope all of you are enjoying the beautiful weather!
