Children are a great comfort in your old age - and they help you reach it faster, too. ~Lionel Kauffman

Mother's Day...yeah, that's coming up and I need to find something for my wonderful mother. One should know that my mom and I are best friends. She is someone that I have always gone to for my problems, goals, dreams, big moments, little moments...everything. Have we had our problems? Yeah, sure. I was a teenager once and I had my moments. But there is nothing that has ever made me not appreciate my mother.

I want to get her something special. I want it to mean something, but I just don't know what to do. I have a little bit of time to think, but not a lot. I need to get on it. Ahh!

I think that spring is trying to find it's way into my life. The mornings are still a little cool, so I would like to have a little more warmth. Is that too much to ask?? So I can start my mornings wearing capris? Just askin'.

A lot of my friends and people that I know are having babies. Has this baby fever struck me? Sure. How do I know? Because all I can think about is what it will be like to be a mommy. Does that mean I think it is a good idea for me right now? No, not at all. I would be okay having a baby right now and I feel prepared for it, but I know that I want to wait a little longer. Mr. S. and I had talked about starting a family this year, but we decided to wait a little bit because we want to get some updates done on the house so that it is more child friendly. What is funny is that Mr. S. was that guy that I was afraid would never want children, but his tune changed (thankfully!). I even heard him talking to a friend about it...weird! I love it! All in good time.

Okay...enough for today. BYE!!

If only we'd stop trying to be happy we could have a pretty good time. ~Edith Wharton

What a weekend...It was just a good, relaxing weekend. My mom came up to visit this Saturday which was awesome. I haven't seen her since Christmas due to busy weekends, her having her gallblader taken out, and weather. Her and I had a good visit and went shopping. She is very artsy and we went to Michael's so she could pick up some items for her alternative scrapbook...very cool idea, btw. Anyway, her stay was pretty short due to the drive back, but it was good for the time I got.

Mr. S. and I played some Guitar Hero on Saturday night...always fun. I like when we can just have a good Saturday night where we can chill out together

Sunday we had dinner at a friend's house and played Easter Egg Roulette. In case you don't know what that is...it is where you hard boil a bunch of eggs and leave 1 less than the people you have normal. So we had 6 people and left 5 not cooked. Then we picked randomly and tried to crack them on our foreheads. Yep, seriously. If you got one that was not cooked, it makes a mess and you are out. The person that ends up with no egg on their face, wins. My husband won last year. This year he was second out and I was in it until the end. My friend grabbed an egg, smashed it, nothing. There were two left, I grabbed one...nothing. I WON! Yay! No egg on my face this year! Some of the things we do....weird, I know.

My dog might be the biggest drool machine ever.

Last night Mr. S. woke up frantic, saying his ring had fallen off. He was searching everywhere and I was trying to wipe my hand over the bed to see if I felt it. So I told him to turn on the light. He did and walked over to me and guess what...his ring was still on his finger. Yep, he was dreaming and then woke up freaking out. He does that sometimes, especially when he is stressed out. Oh goodness...I wonder if he'll remember what happened when he wakes up this morning...haha!

My mom is coming up today to visit. Her and my step-dad raise cattle and then butcher in the spring. With that happening, they have decided to give me and my 2 step-sisters half of a cow's worth of beef. All we have to pay is the processing fee. She is bringing it up today...all 270lbs. of beef! Wow! We are going to be good to go for awhile, that's for sure!

If the dog does not stop barking this morning, I am going to scream. Seriously.

"If at first you don't succeed...go back to bed and try it again tomorrow."

Oh, yesterday was a bad day. Bad, bad, bad. Frustration was the common theme for yesterday. I have 21 students in my room. Yesterday I had to do paperwork on one that is having some classroom problems with defiance, today I need to finish paperwork on another kid that is having some learning problems. I need to put in my grades, still grade some papers, get my reading lessons put together for my reading groups, figure out what I am teaching in science...it's neverending...

It is 5:50am right now. I like to post of a morning because it is quiet and my thoughts are under control. I am getting ready to dry my hair and head to work as soon as I can. Probably around 6:15. That puts me at work around 6:45. I typically get there at 7:10. Yep, it is one of those days. Actually, one of those weeks.

On a brighter note, my mom is coming to see me this weekend!!!!! I am so excited to see her. She had her gall bladder out a couple of weeks ago the weekend of my birthday and was unable to come up and see me. She was pretty upset that she didn't get to come up, but I am glad that she gets to now. We are going to go and watch some of my third graders play intermural basketball. Tee-hee...how cute is that going to be?! And eat Chinese. Yay!

My mom came up today...good times! They redid the Michael's store in our town and it is AMAZING! I totally forgot until I walked in and it was so different. My mom was like a kid in a candy store. We were there for over an hour, and I probably could have spent more time in there. Mmmm....if only I had more money.

That seems to be the theme of my weekend, "If only I had more money". Then I could have ALL the scrapbook stuff for my wedding book, these awesome shoes that I saw at Shoe Carnival, and about 8 million clothes at Old Navy. I saw these green pants.

Now, typically, I would not buy green pants, but in person these are amazing. Old Navy pants just don't fit me right though, and I need more practical pants. Damn being practical. I did buy turquoise shorts this year. Maybe I will try New York and Co. They definitely have pants that fit my poor short legs.

Anyways...this weekend is flying by and I wish that it would s-l-o-w down. I am really not in the mood for this week at school. Busy, busy, and Halloween. Dreaded holidays at school. I love it for one reason. We have a costume contest by grade and the kids get very original. One kid came as a washer last year. With fake bubbles, clothes, and soap attached. It was serious. I will have to post some photos. Goodness!

Alright, this is enough for today. Maybe I am rambling. It's okay. Have a happy weekend!
