"To teach is to learn twice over." - Joseph Joubert

It has been awhile! This weekend was a great one! I got to go back to my alma mater and watch my old roomie/one of my best friends graduate. It was a beautiful graduation day and I am so proud of my friend that graduated. There are a lot of things that she has gone through in life, and it is amazing that she came so far.

The husband and I had a heart-to-heart this weekend. There are things that we have been dealing with lately that we have not had time to sit and share with each other. That has made it hard for us both and it was really good for us to actually have a talk with each other. I missed my husband...we have both seemed so busy lately it is like we hadn't taken time out to talk to each other. It is good to feel like things are back in place.

Today was Play Day with the students. Teacher v. Student kickball game! Teachers won again, of course! The kids love it and we love it. What a fun day!!!

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

I had lunch with fellow blogger and real-life friend Ms. Attitude yesterday. Here's a little history on how we know each other. Her and I met during the summer of 2002 when we went to college. We had become members of the college cheer squad and were going to camp. Over the year we became really good friends and were both majoring in education. Then our sophomore year we moved in together in the dorms and lived together. She transferred after that year and we talked on and off. We have reconnected through the blog world and decided we should see each other more since we only live about 20 minutes away from each other.

We went to lunch yesterday at Olive Garden and were there for about 3.5 hours! Wow! The food was yummy and we had great conversation. I can't wait until we get to do it again!

Today is SuperBowl Sunday, so after I go to the gym I am making dip and we are going to a friend's house. He is making a stadium out of Twinkies and bacon. Yes, I realize these things don't go together, so I am very curious at this creation. I will take pictures.

Alright, my randomness is done, so I am off!

"The key to change is to let go of fear." Rosanne Cash

I have been debating this post today. I haven't been sure exactly what I wanted to post about, but I know that I want to. So...here it goes.

Some things that I want to accomplish in 2009:

*Touch base with my friends more. Some friends live here and some live far away. I feel like our friendships have been neglected lately and I can't deal with not having them in my life as much anymore.

*Manage our finances. I am going to begin keeping track of where my money goes every month once my January paycheck gets here at the end of the month. I have to start putting more money back and figuring out where my money is going each month.

*Be healthy. This does not mean lose weight, but hey, I am all about that, too! I am just thinking more along the lines of doing something active each day for at least 30 minutes. Also, cooking healthier and making better food choices. I feel really good about this choice. I have to do this for my health. Does this mean I can't have junk once in awhile? Heck no! Just no more hanging out in the teacher's lounge snacking!

*Be more organized. Wow, this is a big one for me. I need to really sit down and concentrate on this one and I am not expecting it to hit all at once. I am going to take on a little at a time so I don't overwhelm myself. I just need to get a handle on life.

I know this is a lot of stuff to accomplish. I have 365 days to work on these things. I am not tackling them all in one day or even all in one month. I am going to try them a little at a time. If I do too much then I will definitely just stop and not get anything accomplished.

Okay...I am going to consult this post once in awhile to see where I am throughout the year! Haha! Alrighty...off to organize something...tee hee.
