It has been a long week and it is only Tuesday night. We received news on Monday morning that a teacher at our school had been in a car accident on her way to work and had died. This is a teacher that dedicated her life to her students. She was set to retire after this year was over. She had been teaching a total of 33 years, 12 of which were at our school. This teacher, Mrs. G., has touched so many lives. She was my mentor teacher when I started there 4 years ago. She loved music, Elvis, God, hummingbirds, and life in general. I have to say that at this point, everything is still so surreal. The poor students in her room were heartbroken. Many went home yesterday after hearing the news. Some didn't come to school today and I know that one called to go home.
This is something that makes you sit and think about your own life. I know that it makes me want to tell everyone I love them, hug them, enjoy the laughs and smiles, be silly, be in love, and just live life. Mrs. G. lived life that way. She lived it to its fullest. I will never forget the joy and life that she brought to our school.

Oh what a sad tragedy. I'm so sorry
I am so sorry to hear about this-a good teaching friend, and mentor of mine died at around this point last year...The school shut down for the day of her funeral because no one was going to be attending school, but her funeral-
I do pray you find comfort as you go through this process of grief-I am sad for you-
How tragic. I cannot imagine what it is like for her students. What grade did she teach? I will keep her family and students in my thoughts and prayers.
