This quote makes me think that heaven must REALLY love us today!
Snow day today AND tomorrow! It is so cold out there today. I can hear the wind howling against the house and the snow is blowing all over the place. When it is miserable outside, I am glad to be a teacher! I will take the snow days so that I don't have to be outside in them. I know that we have to make these days up, which stinks, but at least I am inside. I hope the snow days slow down somewhat because I am going to Miami June 2, and I don't want to be in school! Our last day of school is May 14, so I am sure I won't be in school June 2!
I have to say that I am a little bored being at home. I wish that I had a good book to sit down with and read. I guess that I could raid my roomie's room. She has some books that I haven't read, but our taste is not really the same. There might be something in there though....

P90X has been taking place for Mr. S. and I this week. Monday we did our fit test and measurements (ick). I was pleased with where I was on the fit test because you have to hit minimums on each exercise to be able to start the program. I did 20 regular push-ups...on my toes, not knees!! So exciting!
Day 1 was chest and back and let me tell you, we did about 8 million different kinds of push-ups and pull-ups. Argh! But it feels really good!
Day 2 was plyometrics, which is like jump training. 59 minutes of cardio is basically what it is. It was insane and I was exhausted when we were finished. I know that is going to kick my ass into shape though, that's for sure! My body is pretty sore today. Tonight we are doing shoulders and arms.

I want to try P90x but am terrified that I'll be so sore I won't be able to walk, or move! Ha!
I am completely jealous that you have not one, but two days off. We have not even had one yet this year. We get the first one free, teaches only make up the second and then we all do the third. I want that first one because it's free!
Enjoy tomorrow while I am slaving away. ;)
I thought of trying p90x. I saw it on the net and I new I needed to get at least baseline fit to do it! I am now doing the 30 day shred.
Happy snow day.
The p90x sounds so hard! I wish you much success...and you lucky girl! Two snow days! It is majorly snowing here, but so far, still my boys have school :(
Hey! now you have more time to p90x! (Yea, ?)
Hi. I am a teacher from Saskatchewan, Canada. It was interesting to read your blog today. I haven't ever heard of teachers having to teach extra days at the end of the school year to make up for 'snow days'. Our schools never close, but we do have 'no busses running days' with very few kids attending school. These usually end up being 'baby-sitting' days for teachers and 'fun days' for the students who attend. Students work while at school, but it's pretty hard to move on with the curriculum when only half or less than half of the students are in attendance. Today, our busses didn't run because the temperature was -45 degrees Celsius with the windchill. This is the fourth day this has happened this winter. I feel very luckey that I don't have to make these days up at the end of the school year. You do, however luck out, in that you don't have to go to school. All teachers are expected to show up on our 'snow days'. Go figure!
I'm terrified of P90x too but eventually I want to try. I'm jealous of your snow days!!
Anonymous, I can't believe that you don't get snow days! I live 30 minutes from where I teach and I could not imagine having to drive to my job if there was a lot of snow on the ground. I am sure the parents that do need you there appreciate the fact that you still come in to work. Good luck and stay warm!
