A New Car!

I took the Jeep back to the dealer after all the issues. I told them I didn't want it back, and they understood. Mr. S. and I went to some of the lots that this dealer owns, which thankfully is most of the ones in our city, and picked out a couple of cars. We went in and talked to our salesman and I test drove one that I liked a lot and that would fit in our budget.

After test driving it, pushing ALL the buttons a million times, opening and closing the windows and doors another million times...we decided we LOVED it!

It is a 2009 Nissan Rogue...I think it is so cute! Yes, it will make a good mom-mobile, but it is just really fun to drive. I love it! So now that I am happy, I feel good about things.

Car Drama

I took the Jeep in to get it fixed 2 weeks ago. I got it back after a week and a half. The sensor for the tire was fixed, another sensor was fixed, the back driver's side window was fixed, and the acceleration was much better. I got in it that Friday I picked it up and a different sensor came on. It never went off. Then we went out of town for a wedding on Saturday and our friend rolled down the back passenger's side window and it made a horrible noise. After we came out of the wedding, the window had fallen down into the door.  Awesome, right?

We called the dealership and told them it was coming back...for good. I told Mr. S. I wasn't driving that piece of crap anymore. We took it back on Monday morning and then last night we test drove a Nissan Rogue that I fell in love with. We kept it overnight, so it is sitting in my driveway this morning. We pushed all the buttons, looked at ever square inch of the car, accelerated, braked...everything...seems good. We will go through the paperwork to cancel our purchase on the Jeep and get this instead. Yay!

My mom is coming for a visit today. She's going to stay the night. She wants to make the most of the visit and go look at baby stuff!! So exciting! We don't know for sure what it is yet, but there are still things you can get before knowing what it is. I just love going and looking at baby stuff though! It's so cute!

Alright, I need a shower before she gets here...I am looking pretty scrub-tastic.

Baby S. at 12w5d!

We had a terrific appointment today. Everything checked out and the baby is healthy. Baby S. was pretty active today and kept pushing its thumb into its chin and nose...I guess it was trying to find the mouth. 

I got a prescription for some headache medicine that is safe to use, and that makes me happy.

Today is hotter than Hades out. I am not one to be caught dead out in the heat because extreme heat and extreme cold really irritate me. Tomorrow I will have to suck it up for a few hours for Relay for Life. Our team participates tomorrow night and it should be a good time. I am not going to stay all night like last year due to heat, baby, and a wedding to travel to on Saturday.

Thunderstorms and Sick Cats...

We had quite the thunderstorm here this morning! Thunder and lightning all over the place. The nice thing about it was the lovely sleep that I had during it. *sigh* I love a good sleep during a t-storm.

My cat, PepperAnn, has been ill for the past couple of weeks. I took her back to the vet yesterday because things still weren't quite right. She had a fever, hadn't been eating, hadn't been pooping...so they gave her an antibiotic shot and some fluids. Today I am happy to report that she has come downstairs to socialize, is purring, and ate some Saltines (her favorite) with me this morning. YAY!

As for me, I feel pretty good. The fatigue is starting to subside, the nausea doesn't really occur as often, and the headaches have even kind of toned down. I will hit the end of my 2nd trimester (13 weeks) on Friday, and I am looking forward to that. We go to the dr. to check on the peanut on Thursday!! I feel like I have wished away my summer by looking forward to dr.'s appointments. I feel like that's okay right now though!

Time for some lunch! I'm hungry!

12 weeks...and headaches

So I am at 12 weeks pregnant...! Now, in order to enjoy being here, I need these headaches to stop. They are like a combination of sinus headaches and a migraine. My head just throbs. Today has been one of the worst. They make me super nauseous. Today was the day that I ended up almost puking because of it, which m
ade the headache worse.

I called Mr. S. and told him that this would be the first and last child we have! Haha...this is just not enjoyable right now. I know that it is supposed to get better. I know that it is totally worth it. Right now it just feels like I have the flu 24/7 for the past almost 3 months. Ugh...

I am hoping to talk to the doctor about these headaches this week when I go in to see her. I need some relief so I can begin enjoying my time.

I need to somehow pull myself together because we have house guests this weekend. They are supposed to be here soon and I am curled up on the couch looking like a mess.

Ugh...

Thanks to this Zone Bar I ate this morning, I threw up. It's the first time, since the snorkeling trip, that I have puked while being pregnant. I felt like it was just not going down into my stomach and...ugh...I do feel MUCH better now though.

I need to get to work on the curtains for my classroom....time to move the sewing machine downstairs (much cooler down here) and get started. I'll take photos when I am done!

Scrub-a-dub-dub

Day 2 of waking up and not feeling horrible! Does this mean the ending of trimester one is just around the corner? I will be 12 weeks on Friday, so I am going to continue to hope that this continues. The one thing that triggers me being sick the next day is if I eat something too spicy the day before. I love Mexican food and I actual really want to eat it, but I can't stand feeling so crappy the next day. Maybe later in the pregnancy I can eat it again!

Since I feel good today, I thought I should clean since we have a couple of visitors this weekend. A couple we are friends with are visiting and the wife is due in September. I am pretty excited for their visit! I actually took the area rug in the living room outside and beat the crap out of it so I could have it nice and clean. I MUST be feeling good!

Now I am taking a brief break before I head into the kitchen. Ugh. I am cleaning any room to avoid the bathroom. I hate cleaning the tub.
