Decisions

Yesterday I went in for my 38 week appointment and had to go over to L&D due to high blood pressure. They ran labs and monitored me for a couple of hours. If it didn't drop they were going to induce, if it did drop then I would go home. Obviously I am typing this, so I am home.

I can't lie. I really wanted to just have him yesterday. The emotional roller coaster is going full steam right now and it is getting hard to go from day to day. My contractions have started hurting, my patience is gone, and I am exhausted.

I know that my blood pressure had to have gone up because of work. I started feeling crummy at about 1:30 yesterday. I ended up with a headache, was SO hot, and just done. With everything happening yesterday I feel like I need to make a decision about work. I planned for Friday to be my last day, but with this happening, I don't want to push it and make something bad happen. Mr. S. does not want me going back to work. I want to make it easy for me and just stay until Friday, but I don't know if this is realistic at this point. I think there will be some snow days at least on Thursday, so that might help...I just don't know what to do at this point. Everything in my head tells me that it is time. I need to go in and talk to my principal about it. Ugh...decision making is not good for an indecisive person!

Like right now, my contractions are 7 minutes apart. But they will eventually taper off. *sigh* I'll figure out something.

10 days...

...until Parker is here. That is, if he doesn't make his own appearance first. I wouldn't doubt that happening either. I have been having contractions all day every day for the past...like...3 or 4 days. Ugh, they are exhausting. Last night they actually started to hurt. One had me doubled over and hanging on to the refrigerator door handles. I thought that was THE ONE. It wasn't. I'm still here, and there is still a baby in there. I think his head was maybe on a nerve.

I bought the last of the baby supplies yesterday, had my final baby shower at work on Thursday, and there are clothes in the dryer to fold to put in his room. I had a burst of energy when we got home from Mr. S.'s holiday party last night and we put together the last of the items I bought. Now we are ready. Well, as soon as I fold the last of the clothes and blankets.

It is hitting me that my induction date is 1-26...just around the corner. My last day at work (as long as he isn't here before!) is 1-21. This Friday. I am nervous, scared, excited...a bundle of nerves. I have wanted to be a mom for a long time, but I never really thought about it REALLY happening. Here we are, a week and a half out. I am so...overwhelmed, but excited. I can't wait to meet the little guy...

I went from this to...........................................................this! WOW!

The end of 10

I can't believe that we are already closing in on the end of 2010. It has been an amazing year, that's for sure.

Mr. S. and I celebrated 10 years as a couple in March
We found out we were pregnant in May.
With our friends, we traveled to Florida on vacation in June.
The baby was found to be a boy in September.
Mr. S. and I celebrated 3 years married in December.

It was a great year, but I know that 2011 is going to be even bigger. We are going to start the year with the birth of our baby boy. I am so excited, anxious, scared, nervous...a bundle of nerves! Right now it is more the anticipation of when labor will happen than anything. I like to plan and I like to know when things are going to happen. Not knowing when he will decide to come, that is hard for me!

I can't wait for 2011, to see what changes it brings. I can only hope and dream that it is a wonderful year!

Dear Baby,

Please get your foot out of my rib. It hurts.

Your mom

Pregnancy Insomnia

I'm awake. It's 5:08. On a Sunday. Have been awake since 4:30. Ugh...

Yes, I'm sure this is "preparation for motherhood" or whatever else people would like to tell me, but it doesn't make it any nicer.

I have to get in a car for about 3 hours for Christmas today with my mom and step-family. I am excited to see my mom, not excited to sit in a car for 3 hours. I'll have to be frugal with the water today. Hopefully my feet won't swell like crazy.

6 more weeks left until my due date! Holy cow! I am looking forward to Christmas break starting Wednesday. I am planning to pack my bag for the hospital and get the nursery done. Yay!

Off to try to get in a couple of hours of sleep before my actual alarm clock goes off...*yawn*

Bah Humbug

It isn't that I am not into Christmas, but I am not as excited as usual. Christmas is typically my FAVORITE holiday. I love the music, the lights, the feeling, everything...but this year, I don't have the motivation to put up the tree, the lights, or anything. I was trying to figure out why this is. I think I discovered why.

Due to trying to get the house ready for Parker, I feel that putting up Christmas decor is only going to irritate me when I am trying to nest. It is just getting out more stuff that I will have to put up. I just want my house to be clean, and I guess I feel that the Christmas stuff will only clutter the house. Now, I have put up a few decorations, so that is good. I just don't want to get the tree out and put together this year.

Next year there will SO be a tree because it will be Parker's first Christmas and he will be close to a year old. He will be able to be mesmerized by the lights and sounds of Christmas. I will go all out next year for him, but this year, I need to keep it low key for my own sanity!

32 weeks...

It has been almost a month since I have posted. Eek! I just don't have the motivation to do much of anything right now. I seem to have so much other stuff to do that I can't focus on this. But this is what is going on right now.

I am currently 32 weeks as of today. This is me at 30 weeks.

Yep, this is what I was working with 2 weeks ago. My baby bump is itchy and sore. The baby is super busy moving around all the time. I love it! The downside...my swollen feet. Ick. I go to the doctor again Monday, but I don't think it is anything serious. My blood pressure has been really good each time I have gone in. I think it is just swollen feet that I have to stand on most all day at work.

Christmas break is around the corner. I could use a long break from the kids at school!
