Sick pets...

My poor pets and their sicknesses lately. I recently took Truman to the vet for allergies, and they seem to be better.

Pepper the cat had to go to the vet yesterday. She has been sneezing and her eyes were icky. It was time to take her in, and so I took care of that. She has some medicine and should get to feeling better soon. These pets are expensive right now!

Then Truman got sick in the middle of the night. Still not sure what really happened there. I do know that I was not cleaning it up because I was going to be sick if I went anywhere near it. So Mr. S. had to get up and clean up the sickness. I need to throw the bedding in the washer...

I feel like I got no sleep last night...I'm sure I'll need my afternoon nap today. Time for some breakfast...

Week 11

We are now at the end of week 11. My baby is the size of a lime. (Remember, no Facebook mentions yet!)

Mr. S. and I went out for Mexican last night. I call this "Take 2" of Mexican fiesta. We had it when I first found out we were expecting and I had major heartburn. Last night I tried to pick something more bland and I didn't really get heartburn, but I woke up this morning feeling icky. I have had 2 really good days, and I hope the Mexican food didn't set me back. I can eat Taco Bell with no problem, but not food from an actual Mexican restaurant. I blame the yummy fresh salsa. But it was still soooo good.

We are going to take a belly picture tonight to show the 11 month "bump" or bloat as I will call it. Thank goodness for the Tummy Sleeve at Motherhood so that I can still wear my jeans during this awkward stage. It just fits over the jeans so they will be smooth while unbuttoned. It has been a lifesaver.

I am excited to make it through next week so I am at the end of my 1st trimester. I hear there is some light at the end of the tunnel when I get to the 2nd trimester. I hope so! Maybe food will start to sound good...something other than grilled cheese!

"A grand adventure is about to begin." - Winnie the Pooh

I have some news that I have been antsy to share.

On here I know that I have some real-life friends and that they are on Facebook as well. I have NOT made my announcement on there due to the fact that I have a couple more family members to tell. I would appreciate not having anything said on Facebook yet until I make the announcement. You are more than welcome just to send messages on FB or comment on here.

So...yes, Mr. S. and I are expecting a baby! I am currently 10w6d and we are due January 29th! We are both very excited and enjoying this time. I am hoping to take baby bump photos starting Friday when I hit my 11th week.

I have been feeling slightly nauseous each day, usually in the afternoons, along with a headache. Then I take a nap. That's pretty typical. Today I feel good so far. *knock on wood* Some days it feels weird, like I'm not pregnant, but there are enough symptoms that remind me that I am!

"I couldn't help it. I can't tell. When you gotta, you gotta." Sneezy from Snow White

ACHOO! That is the sound that has been coming from my poor sneezy dog for the past 24 hours...poor guy.

He had some Benadryl a little while ago, so I am hoping that it will help to keep him feeling better for a bit. He just sounds miserable.

I did open up the windows and doors today. It is GORGEOUS outside today! I figured that I can get some cleaning done today. I like cleaning when I can have the doors and windows open getting some fresh air. I should probably get off here and start actually cleaning!!

In summer, the song sings itself. ~William Carlos Williams

Tuesday...this week could stand to hurry by because I am looking forward to this weekend. I really love the 4th of July. It is my favorite holiday...fireworks, BBQ, being outside...I love it...

Fireworks from 2008

My mom was able to come up this weekend, and it was so good to see her. I know that she had a super wonderful visit, so that makes me happy.

I could really use a project right now to work on to keep me busy. I think that I am going to get started on curtains for my classroom. I could really stand to get them done. I could probably stand to look at my new curriculum for teaching 5th grade, but that may be able to wait a couple more weeks. Sewing curtains sounds like WAY more fun! I do like the end product after I have sewn together fabric.

Okay...I need to get motivated to make a trip to the store. The dog will really want to eat in the morning, but that will be hard if he is out of food. :)

"There aren't enough days in the weekend." Ron Schmidt

Weekend...yay! I mean, every day is like the weekend right now because I am off all summer, but my hubby is home on the weekends. We are having a date night tonight, which makes me especially happy. Dinner and a movie. Yay!

Tomorrow is a bachelorette party...probably only going to stay the first half so that I can be home for my mom to visit Sunday. That, and my roomie had shoulder surgery, so she isn't really going to want to stay all night in that hot ickiness that is out there with her shoulder being in pain.

Mom is visiting this weekend and I am super excited to see her! This should be a wonderful weekend! :)

"It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to answer, that was retorical."-Glinda

I've slacked a lot lately. I just haven't been in the mood to post, honestly. I don't feel like my days are exciting enough to post about.

I bought a new car...that's exciting...well, it should be exciting. The damn car had to be taken back to the dealership because of the engine light coming on. They "fixed" it and then it happened again. I took it back again and of course it wouldn't come on for them. It seems okay now. Also, when I bought it there was a crack in the windshield, so they fixed it for free. Today I was trying to roll down the back window and it won't go down. It makes it really hard to like this car, honestly. I am excited about the heated seats, sunroof, and hatch so Truman isn't riding on my seats anymore.

It is hotter than hot here this week. I am not interested in being outside at all. I feel bad because I need to take Truman for a walk of a morning. It is just so miserable outside and I don't do heat. Ick.

http://www.spurgeonworld.com/willsblog/archives/wicked0606.jpgI visited my girlfriends in STL this weekend and saw Wicked. It was such an AMAZING show! I was so glad to see my best friends, hang out, see some shows, and just do nothing with them. They are the bee's knees, that's for sure.
