"A quiet mind cureth all." Robert Burton

Operation: Productive Saturday has begun to a bright start this morning. After a perfectly annoying week, I needed to just have this Saturday to myself to get things done.

Started out with an 8:00am workout to Jillian Michaels, laundry, cleaning the kitchen, changing the sheets on the bed, and ordering lunch. Now here I am waiting for my lunch from Jimmy John's to get here. After lunch I am moving onto brushing Truman and bathing him (ick, I HATE doing this!). Then I am going to finish laundry and cleaning.

Mr. S. is gone to tape a graduation and my roomie is at work. So it is just me, myself, and I here at the house. I need some peace and quiet.

“Teacher appreciation makes the world of education go around.” Helen Peters

It's Teacher Appreciation Week...support your teachers out there!

I hope that today is a better day. I don't think my students got the memo that it is Teacher Appreciation Week, so take it easy on your teacher. Only 3 weeks left!

Monday was rough. I hate being stressed out. It isn't attractive. Ick. I need to chill out a little today. At least it's Wear Jeans All Week because that makes teachers uber happy. Yep, we are an easily pleased bunch of people!

Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world. - Virgil Craft

It's been awhile since I have posted. I just haven't been interested in all honesty. I have sat down and started, but I just stop. Maybe I don't feel like there is much to update as of now...not sure. Anywho, I'm here now and I am going to complete this post!

It has been a busy end of April. We are wrapping up the last 3 weeks of school, which are crammed with activities, celebrations, field trips, and craziness. I am pretty excited to be finished because this summer is going to be so busy and so much fun. In a month we are going to FL for vacation with some friends. I can't wait to go on vacation! It is going to be so much fun, staying in the Keys, sleeping in, laying on the beach...sigh, I can't wait.

Summer school is still up in the air...state has to decide on the budget. I wish they'd get on it so that I can get planning. Because of the trip, I would be missing out on the first week and would need a sub. These are things I like to get taken care of in advance so that I can get planned and get a sub. I'm sure parents would like to know, too!

Mr. S. and I took some time to plant flowers out front of the house. They are gorgeous! It rained like crazy and I think a few became water logged, but they are developing nicely. My day lily bloomed today, which I am SO excited about! My husband went and got it to plant while I was at work and he was on vacation. He knew that I loved lilies, so he put one in the front yard.

Weather is getting nice again and I love taking Truman on walks. We have such a good time! Now he is laying on his bed, wiped out for the afternoon. So nice!

Okay, I am going to try to begin updating more. I hope all of you are enjoying the beautiful weather!

"I thought I smelled cookies from the tears of elves weeping that live in your hair." Sue Sylvester (Glee)

I have not been around much lately. There seems to be a lot on my plate lately and I just haven't had much time.

This weekend Mr. S. and I took care of the front yard. I dug out all the rocks on Saturday (took like 4 hours!) and felt good about that. Sunday we went and bought plants to put in the front yard. Mr. S. is going to finish the planting this week when he goes on vacation, which is exciting! I can't wait to post the finished pics!

This week I have been busy with our state testing, which started last week. 2 more days of it left, which I can't wait for because I need my regular schedule back so my kids will behave. Then we are interviewing this week and I am sitting in on them, so that makes for longer nights. It's okay though, because I think it is interesting sitting in on them.

Right now I am watching Glee before I go and pass out for the night. What a fun show! And it's Madonna night. Everyone wins! The quotes are awesome!

Back to it!

"Don't call the world dirty because you forgot to clean your glasses." Aaron Hill

Crap, it's chilly this morning. Over the past week I have been getting up at a my normal 5am to let the dog out, and it is nice and warm outside. Now, the wind has been a beast, but at least it is warm. This morning I went to let Truman out, and it was frickin' freezing out there. Instead of being like 55 degrees out, it is definitely 40 with a wind chill of 33 this morning. Ick. Oh, midwest, how I love you.

I love weeks where I don't work on Monday because it seems to make the week go so much faster. Even if I have a Friday off it seems like the week is longer than Monday-off weeks. Weird, right? I mean, I love thinking that I have worked for 2 days this week and that today being day 3, it is Thursday! Awesome stuff!

Mr. S. and I have decided we need some "us time" this weekend. It seems like we have been spending so many weekends with friends and being busy that we have missed hanging out a little. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends to pieces, but I miss having dinner with my hubby and just catching up a little. Hopefully after this weekend where we have more friends visiting on Friday and trivia night on Saturday, we can just hang out on Sunday.

I do have an eye appt. for new glasses on Saturday. This excites me because I haven't had new glasses for probably 7 years...eek! I have contacts and my glasses now do an okay job, but it is time. I love getting new frames! YAY!

Have a beautiful day!

No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn. ~Hal Borland

The extended Easter break is over and here we are, Tuesday morning. Back to work today. It sounds like the wind is really going for it outside. Nothing like the windblown look to get my day started. Ponytail? It is possible today.

This weekend was kind of long. Maybe it was because I didn't really have anything definite to do that made my time feel like it was worthwhile. Now, I am not saying I didn't enjoy my break, because I really did. It was nice to get a long  break away from work and students. I needed it (and so did they). I can't wait to go back feeling refreshed, a little more energized, and excited to see them.

Our state testing starts this week for 5th grade and then my grade starts next week, so this is crunch time. I think we are at 34 days of school left, or something ridiculous like that. Time really flies!

Have a wonderful week and enjoy the spring weather!

"Life is like a rainbow. You need both the sun and the rain to make its colors appear." Anonymous

The downpour has started outside. Ick. Lots and lots of rain on my break from school. I wish that it were warm and sunny like the days that I was stuck inside working. There is a lot of rain. Maybe a nap would be good...

My friend with the quints called and told me that the smallest one passed away. He just wasn't strong enough at 12oz. The other 4 babies are showing improvement and hopefully that will continue. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.

I think I am getting ready to lose my satellite due to the rain...yep, there is went. Awesome. A nap might definitely be in order now.
