No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn. ~Hal Borland

The extended Easter break is over and here we are, Tuesday morning. Back to work today. It sounds like the wind is really going for it outside. Nothing like the windblown look to get my day started. Ponytail? It is possible today.

This weekend was kind of long. Maybe it was because I didn't really have anything definite to do that made my time feel like it was worthwhile. Now, I am not saying I didn't enjoy my break, because I really did. It was nice to get a long  break away from work and students. I needed it (and so did they). I can't wait to go back feeling refreshed, a little more energized, and excited to see them.

Our state testing starts this week for 5th grade and then my grade starts next week, so this is crunch time. I think we are at 34 days of school left, or something ridiculous like that. Time really flies!

Have a wonderful week and enjoy the spring weather!

"Life is like a rainbow. You need both the sun and the rain to make its colors appear." Anonymous

The downpour has started outside. Ick. Lots and lots of rain on my break from school. I wish that it were warm and sunny like the days that I was stuck inside working. There is a lot of rain. Maybe a nap would be good...

My friend with the quints called and told me that the smallest one passed away. He just wasn't strong enough at 12oz. The other 4 babies are showing improvement and hopefully that will continue. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.

I think I am getting ready to lose my satellite due to the rain...yep, there is went. Awesome. A nap might definitely be in order now.

A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities. - Eda J. Le Shan

I am asking for the prayers and positive thoughts from all of you. My grade partner had her 5 babies this morning at 25 weeks. She had 4 boys and 1 girl. They are very small and the next few days are very crucial to see how they are doing.

The mom is doing well and she seems to be very positive. This has been quite a journey her and her family have been on. I just hope this next part of their journey stays positive for them. I thank you for your thoughts and prayers in advance.

Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush. ~Doug Larson

So...Friday it was 65 degrees outside. Saturday it snowed all day. Sunday was icky and cold. Monday was a little warmer. Tuesday 71 degrees. Are you kidding me...only in the midwest, right? Needless to say, we are done with winter here in the midwest...It is getting old and I am over it. Hopefully the warm weather is now set to stay!

My husband celebrated his 29th birthday yesterday, which was exciting! This weekend we went and ate with friends, went cosmic bowling that night, and then Sunday I cooked a dinner he chose. Monday was his official birthday, you should know I like stringing out birthday celebrations! We went to dinner at a Thai restaurant (our first!) and had some wonderful homemade ice cream at a great shop. YUM!

This week is creeping by...mostly because I am tired, but I need to get some things done this week.

American Idol is brutal these days. I don't watch it often, and I need to quit watching it. It makes me embarrassed for them. How do they not sink into the ground? I would burst into tears.

Oh, another day...let's get is started!

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" ~Robin Williams

Monday, here we are again. It has been an okay Monday for me, which is nice. My students have been very talkative (Thank you, Spring!) lately. It makes for a long day, especially during our state testing preparation.

This is going to be a crazy busy week...today was a dr. appointment for a check on my wrist (it's fine so far), tomorrow and Thursday is tutoring until 4:30, and Wednesday is a meeting until 6:45 at school. Awesome, right? Oh, and a parent teacher conference Friday. Busy. Maybe it will make this week go quickly. I hope.

Back to the workout grind since my wrist feels better. Push-ups are still not okay, so I have to modify or skip them. P90X is a big fan of push-ups, too.

Busy night ahead...lots of work to get done. Have a beautiful week!

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. ~Author Unknown

It has been a long week and it is only Tuesday night. We received news on Monday morning that a teacher at our school had been in a car accident on her way to work and had died. This is a teacher that dedicated her life to her students. She was set to retire after this year was over. She had been teaching a total of 33 years, 12 of which were at our school. This teacher, Mrs. G., has touched so many lives. She was my mentor teacher when I started there 4 years ago. She loved music, Elvis, God, hummingbirds, and life in general. I have to say that at this point, everything is still so surreal. The poor students in her room were heartbroken. Many went home yesterday after hearing the news. Some didn't come to school today and I know that one called to go home.

This is something that makes you sit and think about your own life. I know that it makes me want to tell everyone I love them, hug them, enjoy the laughs and smiles, be silly, be in love, and just live life. Mrs. G. lived life that way. She lived it to its fullest. I will never forget the joy and life that she brought to our school.

Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail. ~Proverb

It's been about a week and a half since I posted, but I have felt like there isn't much I want to talk about. So today might be a weak attempt of a post...

This is our first full week of school in a LONG time. Due to holidays and snow days, we have been out at least once a week since January. Most of those days have been Mondays, and let's just say, I love having Mondays off now! Haha, it was hard to go back to work on this Monday.

I am pretty much over winter. I am tired of waking up and being cold, wearing sweaters is getting old, warming up my car stinks (especially if I don't have time or just forget!), and I am tired of freezing when I walk outside. Ick. I can't wait for spring!

My wrist feels really good these days. I am typing with both hands and I worked out some last night (no P90X or anything though!) and that felt good. It is healing much faster than I thought and the scar is pretty minimal. I have been working to help it heal better.

Ick, what a drab post. I will try over the weekend to spice it up a little. Have a beautiful Wednesday!
